About Ian B. Lawson
25 Years of Experience in Orthopedic Surgery
Currently the medical director with a Washington health care organization, Dr. Ian B. Lawson has more than 25 years of experience in orthopedic surgery. He earned a medical degree (MD) from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine, then completed a rotating internship at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, British Columbia. Ian B. Lawson, MD, subsequently completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia and a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Western Ontario.
From 1997 to 2019, Dr. Lawson held active medical staff member positions with various Washington hospitals, including 9 years with Mountain Orthopedic Specialists. He currently serves as medical director of a large health care organization.
A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Lawson also maintains membership in the Washington State Medical Society. When he is not working, he attends Seattle Seahawks football games and reads biographies. An avid pickleball player, he also enjoys scuba diving, boating, and wake surfing.
